I have been many times to Annie’s home town and grave site in Ohio.
It was right on my way to one of my customers.
It’s probably not worth a road trip
Annie, like Daniel Boone, and some others, was a favorite growing up. I still have a soft spot for many of our early American heroes. How much was real? At some point, I just don't worry. We all have tales to tell.
Actually, had a bit of a crush on her.
Joe, I honestly did not know she was from Ohio.
Doom, one of my sisters is named Ann. I've called her "Oakley" for many, many years.
That’s my lot in life to tell people boring stuff they didn’t know or really care to know!
Somebody has to do it!
Annie wrote to President McKinnley at the onset of the Spanish American War she was prepared to raise a company of fifty female sharpshooters to aid in the war effort. They would bring their own guns and ammo.
I am not sure the President responded.
Damn. Feisty little shit.
