Sister's platelet count continues to fluctuate from
61,000 to 73,000. After eleven treatments of Kadcyla,
the medical folks have determined that as long as the
platelets stay within this range, she's ok to continue
with the reduced dose every three weeks. So far, she has
no other side-effects (yay!) but we still need to watch for
unusual bruising and/or bleeding.
Church activities are keeping her active. Lent was a busy
schedule of baking and cooking and attending mass.
Easter was siblings, stuffed cabbage, ham and baseball.
Now the church folks are getting ready for their annual yard sale.
Weather last week was beautiful but this week is rainy,
although nothing severe like so many other places.
The first yard mowing will happen soon and when it's
nice enough long enough, we'll be getting the house painted.
Look at that... a post with no complaints.
Well, except for the Indians and their painful beginning season.
Ah, well. Life ain't perfect, is it?

Progress of sorts...
Platelet count is up to 69,000. Still not ideal.
The oncologists were concerned about postponing another
treatment so, it was decided to reduce the dose by 10%, hoping
that will allow her platelets to continue rebuilding.
Guessing. Hoping. So much for exact science.
She has a follow-up visit with her doctor in 10 days, unless we
notice unusual bruising or bleeding or her temperature spikes.
Then we head for the ER.
Anyway, I'm relieved for now.
We're keeping alert for Winter's next (may it be the last) hurrah.
Predictions are freezing rain starting tonight and then mucho
snowflakes and wind tomorrow.
The excitement never ends.
Stay warm and dry, dear friends.

whatta sucky sucky mood I are in...
I deleted my FB page eons ago because it became
the highway for friggin' spammers to find my email
and blog comments.
Now LinkedIn has turned into a sewage spewer, too.
Enufffffff. That account is gone as of two days ago and
the spamage has already been reduced to tolerable.
Ha! Take that you slimeball scum-magnet societies. Yeah.
There are no USB cords for my camera on this planet.
My sister's platelet count was too low to do her last full
chemo treatment. They'll check it again in a week.
I am not meant to be a roommate.
I still mourn Sparky every day.
I have his leash and blanket and dog food and bacon treats.
Most of it will be donated, eventually.
I really wish I could hug everyone who left comments of
condolence and comfort. It helps. I re-read them almost
every day. Thank you, sweet people.
Today should be better for a while. We three sisters are
having a small birthday celebration for our youngest brother.
Youngest. He's 48 today. Wow.
We're such party-ers... fried chicken and jo-jo's, brownies
and ice cream while we watch the Browns. I think I have
a few beers in the fridge. No doubt the windows will crack.
I wish baseball was a year round sport.
Sunshine and temps in the 50s through Thanksgiving weekend
is the forecast. Maybe I'll buy a cheap camera and go to the zoo.
Hope your weekend is what you want ♥
