I have heard that each plant produces three pineapples, but only two are edible? I haven't, since I heard that, looked it up. Too tired, too busy, and sometimes too lazy. The formers, this time.
I looked at a few sites but didn't see that. They did say that after the main pineapple is picked, there will be baby plants (pups) growing from the base. Can be cut off and replanted. Takes 2-3 years or more for the fruit to ripen.

I love fresh pineapple . I learned at the Dole Plantation how hard it is to grow and how long it takes to get the plant to bear fruit
Definitely one of my favorite fruits.
