There was a time I could drink for... enough to bring in a couple of teatotalling dates. Seriously. Then again... I tried to have a sip three or four months ago. Vodka, in sweetened tea. It's been three or four years since I had a drink.
I drank, finally, twelve shots, in like... ten minutes? twenty at most. Couldn't get a reaction, after three. Kept trying, harder. Never even got a buzz... which was the point of the exercise. Did wake with a hella headache, but never got even a blip of buzz. Even the headache was gone in an half hour. So, maybe still?
I did my share of drinking after college. In Florida. It's been more than five years since I had my last drink. Since I got diagnosed with diabetes. I'm sure it would hike my blood sugar. And it's not good for the kidneys and diabetics need to protect those. I still get a craving for a good margarita once in a while.
Uhrm, maybe I shouldn't tell you... but... some alcohols will not disturb your diabetes... mine anyway, for sure. It's what you drink with it. Some will. Any sweet alcohol, like Yukon Jack or Black Velvet, or most mixes as well. But they make keto/low carb mixes. Now, I'm not saying go out and drink a gallon. Only that you can have a sip once an occasional, if it's the right one.
The reason I generally don't, is it may arrest ketosis (if I could ever eat right to get back into it again!). Gah! It will stop ketosis for a day or three... or such. Which means I have to get back into it. Which comes with a host of flu-like symptoms, sometimes. Though, if I get into keto and stay there for longer periods again, I wouldn't mind a drink or three (if I can keep it to that), once every three to six months. Say, a vodka or two neat, or a martini, probably drier for better results. Though I truly love a good scotch, would have to check that with a glucometer. Or a gin drink, if I liked gin.
Just check your glucometer after a sip or two. If... you want. Not great purpose for alcohol, but it's social, and... fun... from time to time. Can be. Cheers?

That is funny though. Had to laugh.

Yeah made me chuckle, too.

Well, unless they continue to have no affect. I'm not paying for an expensive nothing.
