First of all, let me chime in on this Jimi vs Stevie Ray thing.
Jimi was Jimi. He paved the road for people like Stevie Ray. To say Stevie is better than Jimi is to say that a Boeing 777 is better than the Wright Brothers Flyer. There is no comparison. For a Boeing 777 to replicate what the Wrights Brothers did on that cold December day back in 1903 is apples and oranges, as it is comparing Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray.
