'twas a lovely, lovely weekend...

Indeed.
It started on Saturday afternoon.
I met Joan, of Primordial Slack, for lunch on the beach.
Where she gets the 'slack' thing is beyond me. This lady
runs in permanent high gear! She is a riot and a beauty.
The food, the weather, the company... all perfect.
Thanks, Joan. I hope we get to do it again soon.

Today was just as good.
I met a good friend and co-worker at a great little Mexican
restaurant for a leisurely lunch and then we walked for three
hours through downtown Deland to view the Fall Art Festival.
They block off the main drag so that more than 200 artists can
set up their booths and show their work.
The festival includes musicians and refreshment booths.
Again, perfect weather, company and entertainment.

If ya'll had half as much fun as I did, well then, your
weekend was grand. I need to do this more often.

The Joanster is definitely da Bomb. Smart, funny, very easy on the eyes, and plays guitar. Don't get much better than that.

Erica - she is great!
Now, I need to figure out a way to add YOUSE to my in-person list :)

Jim - dang! I forgot about her guitar talent. There doesn't seem to be much she doesn't do, and do it well.

Dear me, had no idea ya'll were talking about me behind my back! LOL!

Jean, it felt like I'd known ya forever and a good day. Folks, they don't come much nicer than Jean. I found myself wanting to keep her smiling because she has an easy and warm zest for just hangin' out.

It was a hard day for me, for other reasons, and Slackin' with Jean was the best part of my day.

I coulda stood going to Deland, too. I love a good art festival!

Hey, that sounds a lot like the Fourth Avenue Street Fair here in Tucson. Ours is six blocks long and features over 400 booths full of art and crafts in addition to refreshments and entertainment. It used to be held in February, but they've been putting it on twice a year lately at various times.

It's been a few years since I've taken it in. Maybe time again.

Mark - heh...this would have been a good chance :)

Scully - That just sucks! I'm so sorry. I removed your blog from my roll, sadly.
You can also get my email from my profile page. Stay in touch.

Joan - I'm sure you would've loved the show in Deland. We should add 'art show' to our list!

I'm so very glad we got together.

D.C. - oh, yeah... do the art show, for sure. Great stress relief :)

Thanks, Corby... it was a beautiful weekend, all the way around.

I moved furniture. And froze. I would have preferred your weekend!

The name Deland rang a bell with me and it took me a moment to remember (because it was so long ago) that I had been accepted to Stetson University and until my life took a detour, I had been Florida-bound.

Atavist - wow...we coulda been neighbors!

I had no such thing, though it was more dull and sleepy, if filled a bit with study when I could stay awake. Although, vicariously somehow, it seems it was a better weekend than I had known. *smiles*

Oh, Happy Thanksgiving!
