Haiku Genealogy

The topic for this week's Haiku Contest
at Sparrow's place is: RELATIVES.

Get over there before midnight tonight.
Listen to your Mother!

UPDATE: now, go back to Sparrow's and
vote for your favorite haiku from this week.
Mine is one of the finalists. Yay!

I have less than an hour and NO INSPIRATION!

I appreciate the head's up, dear. I think next week looks better...

:o)>

did it....

I'm becoming more familiar with some of the stuff you used to tell me about "dial-up" even though this isn't supposed to BE dial-up.
Things like how videos play for a moment, then pause, then play, then pause....

Ribbersnappers.....

And the cotton pickin' box turns off at randomn during whenever I have a long comment written but not posted.

Actually, I just double checked and it almost appears there's no Jean Haiku there....

I might be mistaken.
I better go back and look again, eh?

I seem to be stuck in anti-haiku mode...dammit.

(and that, up there, should be 'eastern' not eatern...sheesh.)

Jean said...

ok... I did one.

boneman said...

I like it.

....and, how true?
Very
I still wish they were here just to tell them again....

boneman said...

so, did you vote, too?
it might have been cool to get
another day off.

Wooot, finalist! You go! Kay, I need to go and make my voice heard. Best of luck!

Berry, you didn't vote for yourself?
Another day off?
Let me know how the show goes, ok?

Irrel - thanks, dear. You should throw one in there next week!

boneman said...

No, dear. We're talking about president votin' down your way. Our's isn't until sometime in May or so....
But, the squabble is that they may have another election there.

And....you DID notice I wrote that "didja vote" question in haiku, din't ya?

.....and with that, he never made a disparaging comment about "dial-up" users, again!
Just went over to Enemy of the Republic's place, and she has 113 comments.

Hot chihuahua! I could just barely navigate to the bottom of the page to comment! It was like I was writing and a couple of sentences down, I looked up to see where I was (yeah, don't know if that's old age or years of drinking hard liquor as a kid.) but the first word was just going up.

DANG!

Berry, does this mean Steve won't let you use his puter at the church any more?

To stay sane with dial-up, you need to downshift your brain a bit.
Deep breath...

Oh Jean, I can barely write doggrel, much less attempt something with the subtle elegance of haiku. That's like asking a bulldozer to pirouette for you. *G*

Jean said...

Your writing is far from doggrel.
I'd settle for more of the erotica you tossed off yesterday :-)

Yes'm....Actually, he hasn't said one way or tother, but, I assume I can still use it at church.
I'm learning to just let the blank spots (while it's buffering) go...
Tain't easy, though, when they chop up a pretty song and it comes out piecemeal.
On the other hand, if my recording device were a lil more sophisticated (it isn't actually designed to BE a recording device...) I would just record them and piece them back together.

Meanwhile, I'm, like, all over the place right now and don't care too awful much about the slow buffering.

Now, as for the server shutting down intermittently, well....
THAT'S a bother!

Hey, I just figured y'all are coming to the cookout, too. I thought the extra security would be great! What with folks being impressed with your gun work.

Especially that last display of automatic.....

boneman said...

oh shoot.
That ain't why I stopt by so much as, hey!
We VOTE for the winner!
I didn't know that till yopu mentioned it in your comment.
It suddenly dawned on me and I got over there JUST in time to vote....

Unfortunately, there were a couple better than mine, so, I didn't even vote for me.
