Lay-off #2...

Lost five more production workers this morning.
That leaves six people below me.

So, for now... still here, still breathin'.

Lin - thank you, my friend. I'm holding my own so far.

Joan - heh...that could remain to be seen.
Even better news, we got our annual raises this week.

Thank you, Art. Much appreciated.

Mark - I think it will get worse before it gets better.

If you think you are getting axed, find a competitor, tell them, and go to work for them if they'll have you.

I've already started doing a net search for just that. Would probably mean a relocation to another state, but so what?
Do a search for 'edge welded bellows' to see the companies I'm looking at.

If one of those companies is in this part of the world, I have a pickup truck and like long drives :)

Yikezos! Been through a lay off or two in my day too. Not fun for those who leave or those left behind.

If you need any help with your job search, my husband and I have lots of experience coaching people through the process.

Just let me know.

This may or may not help you, it probably will not change the future, but it is what I do in a number of situations... "Don't look down".

Really, it cannot help to worry too much. Though looking laterally, seeing where you have to go, might not be bad. All else failing, I hope you have faith? Christ said something about tempting the Father, does it count if the fall is out of our control, to some extent? I don't think so. Watch out for those angels though, I have it on good authority that, even if they can perform miracles and bless even those of us who are humble and understand why we should be so, they can be quite bedeviling. Something about the daughters of men. I understand that, though, too. hehehe

Thank you, Doom.
Hard not to worry some when it is in your face every day.
But.
I am looking around and not down.
