Write your life...

Whether it be like this or in letters to yourself,
as in a journal, or a diary.
Write everything about you so that others
may know. How you lived.
What you thought. When you cried.
Loved and laughed. Did you dream?
It may be found some day, and those who
knew you. Might cry. Might laugh.
Might gasp, "That's why!"
"That's when!" "That's where!"
Then again, a stranger might find you
in your words. And know you better than
all those others. Take you home.
Live with you another life.
See in you another way. Love their life again.
Find the path. Forgive their pain.
See the stars.
You are a book. A poem. A song.
Write your life.

Weelll, I don't know about the song. Might sound like a dirge. But, you are right. And maybe we'll find out more about ourselves in the process.
If we touch someone later, so much the better.
Good morning.

I do have that sort of thing going on. You're doing a pretty damned good job yourself, if I must say.

... excellent post, Jean...

Mmmm, nah.

Larry - someone else might hear more than a dirge. Probably words of wisdom and strength.
Good morning to you!

Og - why thank you, sir.

Eric - some of your recent posts helped the inspiration. Thanks.

Dave - aw, c'mon! :)

Cool post. Reminds me to backup stuff. Sometime.

Erica said...

Wow, well put. Really! I'd be happy to comply, so long as it doesn't mean another meme.

AspergantuS said...

ok... I've had just about enough...

What the hell is a meme?????

I feel so stupid......

Jean said...

Mick - uh, yes m'dear.

Scott - in case of brain damage, eh?

Kim - backup? uh oh.

Erica - but, you're soooooo good at memes... hehe.

Mick, Mick, Mick... if you visited more often. um, anyway... a meme is usually a set of questions started by a blogger who then tags other bloggers to answer the questions on their blogs and those bloggers tag other bloggers to also answer the questions on their blogs... until enough bloggers say...OK, I quit! Like that. Got it now? :)

What fortuitous timing! Tag, you're it!

DC - you're kidding, right? ...Uh, no. I just went to your blog. You're not kidding.
OK. I'll try to make it good...hehe.

I am never sure. I always have a split view on this, or more, in one way. It is the artist who paints himself in recursive mirrors, what is he painting, repetition, himself, surreality, infinity, what?

In writing, I see your words, and yet I wonder, as I write, am I writing my life or am I ending my life to write rather than living my life out. But then, if writing about writing is a topic... then I find myself back at the recursive mirror phenomena. *ouch* I prefer headaches sometimes.

Well, fine. I’ll stop being so difficult for just a moment and say thanks for the advice, and wisdom. *laughing*

Well, now... That was the original plan. But, then, stuff happened which made a whole buncha stuff off limits.

At times I'm tempted to start a new, top secret blog... And I just might do it.

Great post Jean.

I could do something like that, but I'd need a ghost writer like Edgar Allen Poe. Too bad he's dead.

boneman said...

or sing it...
or paint it....

but, do it somehow.

Yup!

Well said girl. You definately practice what you preach. I like the idea of leaving something behind for others to remember me. I like to hide messages in things I carve in wood in hopes that someone will one day find it and be pleased to learn something about me.

Keep writing darlin'.

Doom - he is painting his impression, his perception.
Can't write if you aren't living.
And, writing about writing is definitely a topic. I have many books on writing.
You're welcome, sir.

Thanks, Freddie. You could always keep the top secret stuff on paper instead of the 'net and not worry about security... just sayin'.

Jack - you're already doing it... quite well, by yourself...:)

Berry - you got it... lots of choices, eh? You happen to be multi-talented.

Ron - that's an excellent idea!
You are one creative man, and I miss your stories.
Thank you for visiting here when you have time, dear man.

Freddie, that's the frustrating part. I can't even mention a family member's booger-eating habits without them blowing a gasket. ;P

thats the beauty of bloggin isnt it? whether you tell a literal life story or post on topics or write a poem or draw a picture...its all a portrait of the maker. thats why i have really enjoyed all the bloggers ive met in the real....why? because i already knew them from their words, whether a dog or sack of pork rinds or a shadow.

before meme meant a blogger assignment it meant "idea virus"

nice to see you jean lovely as ever.

boneman said...

I think more are "multi-talented" but are just bashful about their talents....

good idea!

D.C. - ha... you old trouble-maker!

she - wow...so nice to see you!
"idea virus", eh? Damned appropriate. Thanks.

I've been told more than once that I reveal more of myself here than in person. Hard not to know someone after reading their words for a while.

Berry - Really? Bashful? heh.

alan - thanks for writing yours.

Damn - I could Poe myself!

Working on it, one went belly-up but another is on its way. I'll let you know when it's up. For now, I'll content myself with playing in the comments.

boneman said...

....probably as an asterick to reading these, though, would be a notation saying...
"view is not neccessarily fit to be worn by every soul on earth."

Berry - not sure I understand...

Yes. Blogging.

And I LOVE rantin' ron's bit with the carvings. How very wonderful!

I have little messages hidden in my gardening and bricklaying, too. Often they're just little horticultural jokes. Some remain unnoticed, so far. A few have been caught out, only once.

I greatly enjoy that.
