Strangers are uncharted territory.
New territory is adventure.
Adventure can be good......
Especially when found within.

Jean, I'm usually with you, but I'm really having difficulty getting my arms around this one. Maybe it's the damned multiple earworms still eating at my brain... the ones I just blogged about...

Jean are you still searching for that place within where you feel whole & complete?

Jean said...

There are times when I feel that I know myself no better now than I did as, say, a teenager.

I know how you feel,I think we keep evolving with the life experiences that come our way. Trouble is when I do get to a place within where I think I know who I am and feel comfortable & happy it doesn't last for long.

As always a thoughtful, concise bit of writing that makes us think...
If I ever do start thinking I know myself the Creator hurls a huge new challenge into my path to make me question all over again. And sometimes I begin to see that I've grown.

Almost always it is the fear of being ourselves that brings us to the mirror.

I really enjoy the word play in this one, mixing an idea, time, and constancy. Really good. Plus, I enjoy the theme, the mystery that is life, and the continuity of that, hopefully, for the length of it.

Curiosity may kill the cat, but sincerity of curiosity brought it back... or, something like that.

Thanks.

"Howdy, stranger. Pull up a bale and sit awhile."

I love that tentative 'dance' when people first meet.

Jean ~ you have no idea how many times I've looked at myself in the mirror and asked the question, "Who are you?" I never answer, I go on.

Dianne - sometimes, like kudzu said, it takes a change or a new challenge for us to notice that we have indeed evolved.

Larry - heh, yeah. About the time we get cocky/comfortable we find out there's more to learn.

Lin - interesting take. I'm not really sure I want to acknowledge or be conscious of everything I am.

Doom - Thank you.
Perhaps it is something like 'the more we change, the more we stay the same'.

Sieg - 'tentative' because we're not quite sure what we're dealing with...yet.

Mick - welcome back!
Maybe it doesn't always have to be labeled.

I think it fits quite well, Merelyme. Thank you.

Oh, very cool, Merelyme is no longer a stranger to Jean!

Yes, Mark...she's been here a few times now. We are becoming friends :)

A very nice snippet that says so much.

And yeah, too much self-knowledge is not desireable after 30.

:o)

hehehe...could be, Joan, could be :)

yes, but who in the hell is that stranger looking back at me? I see a physical resemblance, but nothing beyond that. Sometimes... most times, I have no clue who he is...
