This Moment...

One of my favorite blog authors passed away this week.
Alan Edwards' blog, This Moment, was a daily read for
more than two years.
Beautiful photography from a beautiful, caring, intelligent,
witty, classy man. Losing him breaks my heart.

I'm leaving his blog on my sidebar.

If you have been so unfortunate to have never visited
his blog, do so now. Enjoy what he left there.
He would be pleased.

Rest in peace, Alan.

So sorry Jean.

Beautiful photos, especially those posted in June and July.

A hiatus, ended with this post.....

Oh Jean....

I'll look at his work, and think of the man.... and of your caring for him.

Tell me who else I should go see... life is so short.

That is so sad. . .his photos were brilliant. There is nothing in the late ones to indicate that he wouldn't be with us long.

Candles snuffed while we sleep, yet still need their night light.

Art, one I think of right away is ALAE...on my sidebar.

Of course, I didn't know Alan personally, he lived in Scotland.
He left beautiful and witty comments here and, from his blog just seemed like a wonderful gentleman.
He took a rather long hiatus last year and came back to tell us he had health issues but, other than a couple of his readers who were also close friends, no one knew it was so bad. He is very, very missed.

Jean....

I used to be angry at all the things I missed out on in life. The people, the lost opportunities, the great beauties, the missed chances......

Then, somehow, over the years I became more accepting of life and learn to spend more time enjoying what DID come to me, rather than worry about what passed me by.

Losing the worry left more time to love, time to enjoy, time to savor...

No, I never knew the man or his work. Just like... so many other things and people I never got to know and never will.

Yet.... in return for letting go of the regrets and sorrow, life brought me new joys so unexpected... so deep... that I know now I missed nothing.
I didn't miss out, I was being prepared.

I just let go.... then accepted what came to me..... and the result was magical.

Thank you for letting me in on a bit more beauty in the world. Life is short.... and I'm ready for what comes my way.

Jean,

In this we grieve together, I will miss him as well and I will not post a flower to my blog without thinking of him.

Jean...
A loss to any of us is a loss to all of us. So sorry. I'm on my way to take a look at his work. You hang tight. We are here...

We never truly appreciate anything until it's taken from us, do we?
