The scent of a tulip...

lightly bitter
tangy spice,
gently sharp
mild musk.

As opposed to the flower in my nose...ohhhh... gotcha... I thought I might be doing something wrong...

Jean... as always you say so much with so few words... It's incredible how you do that.

Snogdot, I can say with unblemished certainly... yer ass does NOT... never mind...

Relax people... he's muy older brother... I can't tell you HOW many times as a kid he sat on my head and farted...

Sorry Jean for airing my brothers smelly buttocks on your blog...but he was asking for it..

Mick - bwahahaha!.......I was gonna ask him if that particular odor was in the area where his posterior sits...:)

Jean, when I read that, the fragrance of tulips just filled my mind completely.

I haven't had the pleasure of really breathing one for years and years.

And snog dot and aspergantus, I can just SEE you as little boys. I have no doubt whatsoever that you were both holy terrors.

And evoked a synergism, when together, that would strike True Screaming Horror into the hearts of mothers and fathers and teachers and cops everywhere...

Leave my butt out of it!
You're so mean.

k - feel free to print this out so you can smell the tulips whenever you like... a gift to you.

I think you're right about the boys up there... holy terrors then and probably still!

Jack - Easy now... he's your BABY brother...heh.

Uh... Jean... I can neither confirm nor deny these allegations.
(in my best Forest Gump voice-->)That's all I got to say about that.

K, If you wonder where Travis and the two younger boys (especially the "Bug") get their... uh... some what out of mainstream personalities... they come by it naturally and honestly. They are a victim of genetics... all three of them.

Snogdot... if'n yer saddle smells like tulips (which I can guarantee it doesn't), where do you think the smell came from...huh? Do you ride on yer face?
(again, in my best Forest Gump voice-->)That's all I got to say about that.

I wish I could send you a bottle of the aroma from the jasmine which has completely and overpoweringly infiltrated my yard for the last couple of weeks.

Most awesome.

ah, Dave... I have Confederate jasmine, Carolina jasmine and honeysuckle covering the fence at the front of my yard. The Confederate is blooming now, the Carolina has just finished and the honeysuckle blooms from spring thru fall. Awesome, indeed.

p.s. I'll try to do the 5 questions tonight...:)

The HORSE, Mick! It's from the horse! I use tulip scented baby powder on the HORSE. You're so mean.

I don't get much scent from tulips, but when I read your description it was more like my perception of the scent of carnations, beautifully put!

I'm a fan of honeysuckle, though I don't have a lot and it doesn't bloom very long, but my all-time favorites are lilacs and peonies. Their scents fill me with memories of my childhood (happy) and make me instantly serene and joyful.

For pure visual ecstasy, I would go with the bougainvillea, especially the hot pink ones, though they don't grow where I live but they do in places that I love (Hawaii and Italy). And right now tulips and cherry trees are in bloom, with azaleas and dogwoods to follow soon after -- a feast for the eyes!

I'm going to stay away from the whole saddle scent theme, if ya don't mind...

Sparrow!!!...where ya been, gal?
Ohhh... lilacs and peonies, I miss them from Ohio... mmmmmmmmm.

Lurking! And I still can't comment from home, don't know why. I have also been devilishly busy at work (here till 9 last night, ugh) and church, hopefully it will ease up soon...
