Have patience, old girl...

I've learned
how to wait
and in waiting
I've learned
that wants
don't always
match needs.

Did you ever listen to the Stones? You've summarized their song, "You can't always get what you want." (but if you try, sometimes, you might just get what you need).

I know my idea of need and want clash until reality breaks out and I find out I needed much less, if I still want much more.

Don't worry. I think, in another timeplace, you really will have both. And it will be the more, not the 'suffice' of today. How? Dunno, just think it will be so.

I dunno. Ever the antagonist, but, it seems the only difference between wants and needs is a degree of "how much"?
I remember as a smoker, I wanted to quit.
I NEEDED to quit.
but...I let it linger for way too long.
Didn't want it bad enough, even though I needed to to save my own life.
I guess you can relate to that.
It was the adult diapers that really caught me. I made the connection and it was a steady case of trying for about two years.
Went from two-three packs of Marlboros a day to a box of tops in two. The differences were startling, too.
But that was me.
wants and needs were secondary adverbs.
You WANT something...
You NEED something...

How bad?
How strong are you to get what it is?
The room next door is burning, you want to leave.
You hear a baby's cry...
You NEED to find the baby.

oh heck, I'm just blathering.
I'll just stumble away, now...
I need some art to happen.

Well, I WANT some art to happen.

Not ignoring you folks, really.
Just got some bad news about one of my sisters. Will probably be taking up most of my time for a while.
