Invisible wounds...

Elizabeth's sister
isn't the same anymore.
Her husband went to war.

He came back whole
but aching inside.
He sits in shadow
and cries.

"There's no one left." says he.
"I'm still here." says she.
"I can hear their pain."
"Your son wants to play."
"This isn't what he should see."

"We want you at home. Please,
don't leave us alone."
"I'll be back when I can."
The door closed.

Elizabeth's sister
isn't the same anymore.
She sits in shadow.
And cries.

Thank you, T. It's been brewing for quite a while. Three months to finish it.
Thanks, too, for stopping in. Hope you are OK, my friend :-)

I have no words........just no words.

Thank you, Dianne.

Larry, this has been haunting me for a while. Not sure why. Possibly because of a book by Martha Raddatz, 'The Long Road Home'.

Jean....lovely, and haunting, and sorrowful all wrapped in one. But beautiful, nonetheless.

It's odd how that disease doesn't stop at one. I worry about that too. Most people really don't know. Is it the one created psychiatric situation that actually affects offspring genetically. It also spreads to family members from before the situation. Such a weird disease.

True, Doom. Weird and sad.
