What's left is...

to believe what you know.

Can one really believe what they know unless they know what they believe?

I think most of us don't like what we know, especially if it differs from what we think we want. We know a truth, but often deny it.

Truth?
Dang! One of the most elusive of all critters!

Truth is truly (HA!) a case of perspective.

Sounds more like does a crow rave about things or does a raven crow about things....

Amen to that, Jean. Human beans have an endless capacity to rationalize.

But what if what you know, although the truth, isn't the right answer?

I believe I know
What I believe to be true
At least I think so

I once heard that the essence of enlightenment is to prepare your mind as a blank slate first thing upon waking, like a student going to class. I'm still working on finding my pen, though...

Berry - "a case of perspective"... well, in some cases, yes. But, aren't some things true no matter who is looking or from what angle?

Sparrow - absolutely.

Jack - how can the truth be wrong? It might be ugly, but still the truth, right?

Mick - still pondering, eh? :)

Irrelephant - heh... I could use a bigger slate.

Oh my yes, how often do I doubt and worry over what should be clear.

You have a sharp eye, I imagine not much gets past you!

Corby - thank you, I do notice detail, but often ignore (deny)what I don't like to see... especially, in myself.

Denial I've seen
Is quite often a blinder
But truth is oft light

Well said, Mick!
um... are you leaving any of these at Sparrow's place? You should, you know.

The truth, even when not ugly, can still scare and is often not appreciated.

True, true, some truths are better left unsaid, but only if you are put in a situation where someone says something like, "Do these jeans make me look fat?" And your reply is, "No... your big ass makes you look fat." That kind of truth is never required....

Yes. Akron heroicly held OSU to a 3-2 lead at halftime last Saturday. Fear the 'roo!

Cappy - heh...will wonders never cease??

To believe in yourself is first. Then believing what you know is truth follows.

If I don't believe in my ability to know the truth, how do I believe in it when I find it?

How can you believe in anything if you don't believe and trust in your self?

I gotta work on that...thanks for the thoughts today!

That's not exactly what I was talking about, but I get it.

truth and fact are separate from human thought.

Something is a fact or it isn't. Something is true or it isn't.

Leave it to us to bungle up both of these.

And the reason we do it is simple.

We have limits to what we are capable of comprehending.
