3 a.m. ...

Sleep is the stranger
whose absence taunts me.
Teasing, hesitates,
refusing to linger.
Like love.

Larry - makes me wonder if people who are loved and in love sleep better?

no...not really....You should know that. How many times have we met in the late hours on line telling each other to go to bed...

that was beautiful. . so many times I wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning and reach across the bed to empty air and cold. I usually just end up getting up and starting my day early.

Thank you for putting that feeling into such lovely words.

2:30 is my wake-up time, usually.

It used to be so full of thoughts and ordered muses. Now it's just my cue to go downstairs and read something on the internet for an hour.

But, Charles Schultz was right:
Happiness is a warm puppy.

Since I read this one I can't sleep! :-)
Jean, I sometimes wondered why I wake up at strange times. Last time that happened I learned that my son's girlfriend's brother had been in an accident... miraculously survived with a few scratches... when it happens again I will be praying.
