Agreed......however I fear and despise the cold bitter months of January and February that are lurking behind the freindly mild months of October and November!
The epitome of freezing t'death is that, one goes to sleep mentally, then, physically, then, while everything is shut down, y'just slip away.
'Course, this would be a good time t'start getting wood together fer then, eh? We just put up our first cord and a half. Dang! I can't wait till it's cold enough t'fire up!
Uh, the three of us are really quite contrasters, eh?
With a wood burner, an enclosed, metal box in the middle of the room versus a fireplace where y'see the fire.... The difference is astounding. First, the warmth is spread out around the room so much better. Turn the cieling fan off fer just a few minutes and then back on and it gets hot enough that y'want t'open a window.
On the other hand, I do miss seein' the flames dance in the fireplace....lil sparks zippin' up into the chimney, the crackle of the logs....
Sometimes I think I should go to a place with a fireplace, take videos of it and take it home, put it on tv and then fire up the wood burner.

I refuse to let the thought of cold months spoil my thrill with the coming autumn....also, here in Florida, the cold isn't much to complain about.
Spending a cold evening in front of a fire...heavenly...I miss that.
