A little preoccupied...

Right now I'm paying more attention to
the local fire updates than blogging.

'scuse if I am not around as much for a while.

One of the big ones is only a few miles west of me.
Keep some fingers crossed, ok?

Since it has been many weeks since we've had any
lightning storms, the officials are on the look-out
for arsonists.
Let's hope this is not going to be a repeat of the summer
of 1998 when the whole state was on fire. That time, it
got within three blocks of my house.

I'd rather prepare for a hurricane.

OMG! Keep your head down and your eyes open, Jean! And when in doubt, head toward open water. *g*

Put all your valuables in the dumpster, Jean! And run!

If the wind doesn't kick up, like it did all weekend, they'll have a chance of getting it under control.

Fingers crossed for you Jeanie, I hope you & Sparky will be safe. Fires are terrifying, we have been evacuated twice over the last decade and in 1994 my house was hit by a fireball & the roof started to burn, thank God for the quick action from the fireman, they are heroes.

Holy shit! I'd be MF'ing pissed! Hopefully the peeps with the hoses are doing all they can to put the fires out.

I know it's not exactly hop and a skip away, but if you, God forbid, become in need a place to stay (hopefully it won't come to that), you're always an honored guest here up north.

Not much different than yesterday, but no worse, either.

Corby - most of us would welcome some snow right now :-)

Thanks, she. Didn't realize you have so much family so close!

Mark - heh, I'd max out some plastic paying for gas :-)

Thank you, Faith!

Winston - I was getting ready to book but, it's calmed down finally.

Thank you, Freddie... you guys left just in time, eh?

I'd rather hurricane hunker myself too.
Be careful and the offer will never leave the table.
