Silence...

there is no
understanding
of words left
unrevealed.
held in heart
inside the dark
bitter roots
take hold.

Uh-oh,.....sounds like about time for a high colonic. Maybe a coffee enema. Gotta cleanse those dark spots.
Here's hoping some light shines in to make you feel better.

Which is more painful.... keeping the words hidden, or sharing them?

Larry - A coffee enema?? ewwww.
Actually, my friend, I wrote this a while ago...decided to post it mostly just to get the beer thing off the top :-)

Art - well, if it is something you want someone to know, it does no good to not communicate in some way. right?

It is better to get those words & feelings out,no-one ever hears us by being silent;no room for bitterness, missed opportunities & regrets...

Things will pool and grow thick and dark with hurt if you don't let the waters flow. Best to get it out.

Especially when you can get things out with words that mend and heal.

Sure, sometimes the darkness seems overwhelming. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be darkness.

Then again, when light does come around, especially after darkness, how grand it makes everything seem!

So grand, in fact, one might even forget they're turning 57 this month.
Old gal.

Er, was I talking about you?????

I, too, hear the silence...

Silence by definition is the lack of sound, yet even in the most silent moments, sound abounds.

As Rachel Naomi Remen says:

"The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words."

Well 'boneman'that is true, I guess we appreciate the high moments in our lives more if we compare them to the lows. Did you know that the 50's are the new 40's, we are as young as we feel...& Jean is still a 'babe'.

And ghotier I like your quote.

ghotier - listening, really listening, is one of the best things we can do for anyone.

Dianne - hehehe...thanks, dear girl.

Val - it is powerful.

I've seen it often -- people don't say something for fear of damaging the relationship, but instead they bury it where it festers and ALWAYS makes things worse. We never learn.

well, you'll never guess where I'm writing from....

But, holy mackeral! The danged box keeps turning off on me (not an oxymoron, but, not probably the best way to say it...)
well, it keeps turning off at randomn times....

Can I e-mail? Only if I can figure out where to buy some e-mail stamps, cause that's one of the times it turns off; while the mail/outlook is on.

Home?
Did I hear you say home?

Yes.

Jean said...

Well said, Sparrow. Exactly my point.

Berry - you got the net at home?
email or call.

boneman said...

Yes'm.
And, right now at least, it's easier for me to "blog-mail" than e'mail.

Here's one for you, the Explorer thing here writes in a font called Thunderbird.

hehehe... one of many discoveries, I'm sure :-)

Ah, modern crap. Can it be beat?

Did you read my tea leaves or something. I am sorry to not be out playing and saying hello. I am good, on the inside. It is where I say everything. It is very sad to me that none of you hear.

Good writing. Such a joy.
