I got tired of just thinking about it.
I want to see this place in person, damnit.
Thursday, this week, I am flying to Nashville
and renting a car to drive to Cookeville.
I emailed the company and asked if I might be
allowed to tour the facility on Friday. Of course,
I'm hoping they will say, "Why sure! And, as long as
you're here, stay around for an interview, too."
Got nuthin' to lose and a new life to gain.
If nothing else, I haven't had a vacation in a long time
and have never taken one by myself. I don't plan on doing
the usual tourist-y things this time. I want to look at the
area from the perspective of what it would be like to live there.
Fingers crossed, my friends... fingers crossed.

I dunno about crossing your fingers, though.
Need to keep them clenched in fists...

Crossing fingers on both hands and my legs too. I'd cross my toes...but they wander where they will.

We are rooting for you!
Good things coming..... betcha!
This is just delicious, Jean! Wonderful.
When I used to move a lot, or got an asset in an area very new to me, sometimes I'd call the town and order up some of the local newspapers. That way I'd have local info, but minus most of the touristy stuff you get from sources like the Chamber of Commerce.
Now, of course, we have...the net!
Have you been reading their newspapers?
Fair winds to thee dear Jeanie...hope it all goes well for you...you are a brave girl taking hold of your future like that-you deserve the very best.
Have yourself a safe and fun trip, no matter how it turns out.
Can't say that I blame you. The suspense must be .... Ugh.
Berry - no windshield wipers??
Art - I appreciate that so much!
k - I wish I had thought of that sooner, but I plan on grabbing some when I'm there.
Dianne - thanks, dear.

Remember what I told you....

I got a bunch of stuff crossed for you. I think I have to uncross my eyes, though. It's giving me a headache.
Best of luck to you, Jean.

I mean, what'cha thinkin' there, girl?
But, it don't rain in Tennessee, does it?

beansgal
Jim - ow...no headache! (thanks for crossing a bunch)
Berry - I hope it does some. They have trees and flowers and stuff that need rain too, right?
Beansgal - leave it to you, my dear friend, to know the best place to observe the townfolk :-)
Well, as usual I'm late to the party but GOOD LUCK.
And so you know...that is EXACTLY how I got the job in Tampa and ended up spending 10 fantastic years down there.....
You're right. You got nothin' to lose!
