Let's have a
conversation
and you can tell me
what you think -
about the world
the people in it -
about the loves
of your life -
about the flowers
in your garden -
and your favorite recipe -
Are you drinking
tea or coffee
I have an ashtray
in the cupboard -
I want to live
to be a hundred
Or close enough
as long
as I can smile
and remember
how I spent
my time
and celebrate
my being -
oh dear
...your turn.
My wife wants to live to 100.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of being old depresses me to no end
Hi Jean, like the style and message of this poem. I want my years ahead to be filled with a good amount gratitude and amazement, in big and little moments. It’s a tough time politically, and I think many of us are trying to contain that. Love kj
